Community Board Plan \u2013 Update against Outcomes<br>On\n 1 October 2018, the Board met to receive and review progress on its \nCommunity Board Plan 2017 \u2013 2019, which had been monitored against the \nBoard\u2019s agreed Outcomes and Priorities.<br>A community facility for \nDallington\/Burwood was seen as a priority. Deputations by Appointment<br>Burwood\/Avondale\/Dallington\n Group \u2013 Burwood\/Avondale\/Dallington Community Hub, Bebe Frayle and \nDavid Collins will speak on behalf of the Burwood\/Avondale\/Dallington \nGroup regarding the Burwood\/Avondale\/Dallington Community Hub.\u201d<br>\u201c5.4.1 Burwood, Avondale and Dallington Community Group<br>The\n Burwood, Avondale and Dallington community group meetings continue to \nhappen monthly. The group is supported by Coastal-Burwood Community \nGovernance staff and Board members. The group are currently organising \nthree community events, one in each area as well as a combined event to \nbe held in March of 2019.<br>The group are completing a feasibility \nstudy with regards to having a combined Community Hub to collectively \nservice the three suburbs. The Burwood, Avondale and Dallington areas \nhave dramatically reduced community spaces\/places as a result of the \n2010\/2011 earthquakes with approximately over half of the land and \nhousing lost to the red zone.\u201d\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nObviously my concern now is, if the Dallington\/Burwood\/Avondale \ncommunity were researched by Sarah Wylie in September 2017, and still \nhave no community centre, and have to wait til June 2019 for the Board \nto review its Board Plan.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nWhat does this mean for the Shirley\/Richmond community, that have been \nresearched by Sarah Wylie in October\/November 2018, with a report due to\n be presented to the Papanui-Innes Community Board early next year, when\n are we likely to see a community centre?\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just a quick update.
