Land is 50% TC3 and 50% RRZ. Stop banks on the river breach during high tides\/in heavy rain.<br>\u2022 Loss of local shops meaning fewer places for the community to connect.<br>\u2022 Loss of connection with the natural environment (the river bridge linkages).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avon Loop<\/strong><br>Community issues (2014)<br>\u2022 Loss of bed sit accommodation for low income older people, people with mental health or alcohol and drug issues leading to increased homelessness.<br>\u2022 Increased safety and reduced crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avonside and Richmond<\/strong><br>Community issues (2014)<br>\u2022 Depopulation and a shortage of housing.<br>\u2022 Loss of local shops meaning fewer places for the community to connect and a less viable local economy.<br>\u2022 Damaged roading networks and bridges; declining access to public transport.<br>\u2022 Desire to enhance the connection with the natural environment for environmental wellbeing and recreational usage.<br>\u2022 Poor quality housing and a shortage of affordable housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Burwood, Westhaven and Travis<\/strong><br>\u2022 Reasonable proportion of community development and support agencies, and sports and recreational groups based in this area.<br>Community issues (2014)<br>\u2022 Few community events in this area.<br>\u2022 Depopulation and shortage of affordable housing.<br>\u2022 Concerns about future access to homes in south-east Burwood due to red zoning.<br>\u2022 Damaged roading networks.<br>\u2022 Concerns about future sea level rises and potential for flooding.<br>\u2022 Loss of connection with the natural environment (Horseshoe Lake).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Greater Linwood<\/strong><br>\u2022 High proportion of community development and support agencies (10), faith based organisations (9), and sports and recreation groups (11) based in this area. High number of community events.<br>Community issues (2014)<br>\u2022 Poor quality housing damaged further by the earthquakes, shortage of affordable housing leading to high rates of transience and turnover in school rolls (40% annual turnover at Linwood Avenue Primary School).<br>\u2022 No places or spaces for young people to gather creating a barrier to engagement with young people.<br>\u2022 Vulnerable population\/high rates of deprivation.<br>\u2022 Fatigue and burnout amongst community development and support agencies.<br>\u2022 Increased safety and reduced crime, particularly in Linwood Park.<br>\u2022 Regeneration of the urban environment, viability of new and existing shopping developments to encourage community gathering places and increased local employment opportunities.<br>\u2022 Concerns about future sea level rises and potential for flooding.<br>\u2022 Damaged roading networks and access issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New Brighton and South Brighton (including Southshore)<\/strong><br>\u2022 High proportion of community development and support agencies (16), faith based organisations (3), and sports and recreation groups (12) based in this area and a large number and wide variety of community events are on offer.<br>Community issues (2014)<br>\u2022 Damaged roading networks, declining public transport options.<br>\u2022 Stop banks and estuary edges prone to flooding.
